Typewritten Letter Signed ('Edward') as Duke of Windsor, to [Major] Gray [Phillips, equerry to the Duke], 1 page 4to, 4 Route du Champ d'Entrainement, Paris, 1 July 1954. Sending a cheque ('check') and expressing thanks. With an informal photograph of The Windsors with another couple, perhaps the Grays, although annotated on the reverse in pencil 'Katherine Rogers'.
'... The Duchess and I want you to know how much we enjoyed your visit with us and appreciate your indulgence over your accomodation here and at the Mill.
 'If you can take it again, with the probability of your services being required to move a few pieces of heavy furniture, we hope you will come back and stop with us in the fall. ...'
