BERLIOZ, Hector (1803-1869). French composer.
Autograph Letter Signed to Berthold Damcke, 1 page 16mo on black-edged paper with integral blank, [Paris], 'Jeudi soir', no date. Sending three tickets for Sunday's concert ('If you cannot use them please be good enough to return them.').
Berlioz had known Damcke since 1847. They were very close neighbours and friends in the 1860s and Damcke was his executor. The concert is likely to have been one of those given in early 1863, on 8 or 22 February or 22 March, at which Berlioz's works were performed.
