MUNRO, Hugh Andrew Johnstone (1819-1885). Classicist.
Autograph Letter Signed to Lawley, 2 pages 8vo with note of identification on the third and fourth pages, presumably by Lawley himself, Trinity College, 22 October 1883. Offering to entertain Lawley's friend, General Pryor, should he visit Cambridge and remarking 'How in the world came the Fenians to pitch on such a man to help them?'
The General Pryor referred to was Roger Atkinson Pryor, a general in the American Civil War, who represented the defendants in the Haymarket Massacre trial in the American Supreme Court.
