![]() [ALLOM, Thomas] (1804-1872), Architect and artist. Commonplace book apparently belonging to his first wife, Mary Ann [Rawlins], 4to in marbled boards. With several pages evidently in Mary Ann's hand, an extensive short story or or perhaps factual narrative (apparently incomplete), fragments of poetry and prose, a few loose letters etc. Among the contents, which are fairly slight, is a letter to Thomas Allom from John Gilson, 2 pages 4to, Ply[?mouth], 18 February 1832 (torn in two). The earliest entries by Mary Ann are dated March 1834, which would have been about the time of her marriage. [No: 23364] The image is of a specimen page only.
