Autograph Letter Signed ('Melville') to Rear Admiral Sir T[homas] Graves, 1 page 4to, Admiralty, 24 February 1805. Politely but evasively promising to give full consideration to Captain ?Nesham, on Graves's recommendation.
'... I shall be very ready to give as favourable a consideration as my arrangements may admit, consistently with a due attention to the Pretensions of other officers strongly recommended to me for similar commands.'
