Autograph Letter Signed to 'Monsieur Gide Père' in Paris, 1 page 8vo with integral address-leaf, Paris, 8 March 1834.
'For some time the Institut has failed to provide me with the works that follow those which, as I promised, I used to send you. I am therefore sending you this packet of those of that type that I have, since I should like you to receive them before you leave. ...'
He wishes him a good journey.
The addressee may have been the grandfather of André Gide (1869-1951), whose father Paul (d. 1880) was a Professor of Law at the University of Paris.
