BULL, Ole (1810-1880). Norwegian violinist and composer.
Fine Autograph Music Quotation Signed inscribed 'Al Egregia Maestra Sig[norin]a Marchese', 255 x 167 mm. (6½ x 10 inches), Hanover, 27 February 1861. The quotation comprises eight bars of D major in the treble clef marked 'Andante' without words, probably violin music.
The identity of the dedicatee is uncertain. It could possibly be Mathilde Marchesi (sic) (1821-1913), but she was German, not Italian, and the spelling of her surname is different, although one may make the odd allowance for Ole Bull being a Norwegian.
Together with a good cabinet photograph of Bull (head and shoulders).
