BLUCHER, Gebhard Lebrecht von (1742-1819). Prussian field-marshal.
Autograph Letter Signed to Herr Schwenke (?), 2 pages 4to with integral address-leaf, B[erlin?], 19 October 1814. Together with five printed portraits of Blücher, cuttings etc.
A long letter in Blucher's notoriously illegible but rather compelling handwriting, to the inspector of his estates in Silesia, discussing matters to do with his property, in particular the fact that the government may have to move some of the assistant foresters to other positions. Schwenke is also to make arrangements with the Regierungsrat [a senior civil servant] about the house in Kriwellwitz, where a room is to be made ready for Blücher.
Autograph letters of Blücher are very rarely seen on the market.
