BLANC, Louis (1811-1882). French politician and historian.
Autograph Letter Signed to Herzen, 1 page 8vo (slight traces of mounting on the reverse), 'Vendredi soir', no date. Explaining that he was unable to avoid an engagement for Tuesday, asking Herzen to appoint another day (except Sunday), and sending his greetings to Ogareff ('et à ces dames').
A remarkable association of names. Aleksandr Ivanovich Herzen (1812-1870) was a Russian political agitator, and Ogareff an anarchist. Letters from Michel Bakounine to Herzen and Ogareff were published in France in 1896.
