DICKENS, Charles (1812-1870). Novelist.
Autograph envelope-front, signed in the lower left hand corner, to Mr Sly in Lancaster, laid down on the remains of an album-leaf, postmarked 1 October 1869.
Joseph Sly was the landlord of the King's Arms Hotel in Lancaster. The present envelope does not belong to any known or published letter (see The Letters of Charles Dickens, Pilgrim Edition).
