Autograph Letter Signed to an unidentified correspondent, 3 pages 8vo (laid down on the remains of an album leaf), Oxford, 14 April 1841. Giving Dr [Thomas] Gaisford's opinion on the teaching of the classics.
'... He is of opinion that much injury has been done to Latin scholarship in the Country by the modern practise of using Greek and English lexicons & grammars. ... A New Greek Grammar has just been published by Mr Wordsworth of Winchester which is adopted at Winchester, Harrow & Rugby, & is the best now extant. ...'
