Autograph Letter Signed to [Edward] Whymper (1840-1911, artist and mountain climber), 1½ pages 8vo, Nash Mills, Hemel Hempstead, 23 October 1897. Thanking Whymper for his Guide to Zermatt and giving details of his recent trip to Canada and the United States.
'... We went right through Canada to Vancouver and Victoria & returned through the US taking the Yellowstone Park on the way. ...'
On this trip, Evans was awarded an honorary DCL by Toronto University and an LLD by Trinity College, Toronto.
