Typewritten Letter Signed to H J Anthony French, 1 page 4to with envelope, on writing paper of the Army Field Forces, Office of the Chief, Fort Monroe, Virginia, 3 October 1950. Remembering fondly a recent visit to England and reunion with French and other comrades from Salerno, admitting a lack of practice at table tennis, and remembering Ken Clark.
'... It was a short but delightful visit to England and if, as you suggest, my presence served a beneficial purpose to your people, then I feel doubly repaid for in them I found a real inspiration. ...'
