LISZT, Franz (1811-1886). Hungarian composer and pianist.
Autograph Letter Signed in German to the publisher, Kistner, 2 pages 8vo (some soiling and splitting repaired), Eilsen, 22 June 1851. With a transcript and translation. About the 'Harmonies Poétiques et Religieuses', asking if he is still willing to issue it, and emphasising his concern to ensure that the edition is worthy of the dedication to Princesse Carolyne Sayn-Wittgenstein.
Liszt also congratulates Kistner on the adaptation of David's Bunte Reihe and recommends Simon Löwy of Vienna.
Kistner published Liszt's Harmonies Poétiques et religieuses in 1853, by which time Liszt had added a tenth piece to the set. Ferdinand David's Bunte Reihe, 24 Stücke für Violin und Pianoforte componirt, für das Pianoforte übertragen von Franz Liszt was issued in four volumes by Kistner in 1851.
