The verses you are good enough to like have never, I believe, been particular favourites with my readers, but I have always had a great partiality for them, and believe them to be among the best I have written. The scene described is the southern and wilder portion of Dartmoor, as I knew it half a century ago. To the veritable Palestine I have never had the good fortune to penetrate. ...'
