KEBLE, John (1792-1866). Divine and poet.
Autograph Letter Signed to Mr Heathcote, 4 pages 16mo, H[ursley] V[icarage], 17 November 1854. Discussing parish accounts and contemplating calling on the further generosity of his parishioners.
'I cannot somehow lay my hand upon the Bill for the Procurations, but you will know the amount. ... My Parishioners are so very liberal, generally speaking, that I am quite shy of making a fresh call upon them. But I suppose we have no choice in this case. What should you think of starting the idea of every one, gently & simple, contribution a day's pay ... ?'
