Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 3 pages 8vo (splits in the second leaf professionally repaired), Chatsworth, 9 March 1850. Written in the year in which his plans for the Crystal Palace were accepted, concerning substantial financial transactions.
'... the effect will be to make the Midland Company pay £45,000, to that bankrupt concern the Sheffield and Lincolnshire Company. We have paid 15,000 and get (I believe with your assistance) a clause inserted in the Manchester and Lincoln Union Amalgamation Act . ...'
