JAMES, Henry (1843-1916). American novelist.
Typewritten Letter Signed to [George H.] Boughton, 2 pages 8vo, 34 De Vere Gardens, 5 March 1897. Asking Boughton to send him 'the small thing of mine in Harper's Weekly which contained the stuff about Fred Walker' [the illustrator].
'... I am moved to ask of your good nature whether by any chance - if you are really in usual receipt of it - you keep, by accident or intention, the numbers, and whether, that being the case, it would cost you an intolerable pang to let me have the one containing my letter about the said walker book and other matters. ...'
