EUGENE OF SAVOY (1663-1736). Austrian General. Fought with Marlborough at Blenheim.
Letter Signed as Counsellor of State, President of the Aulic Council of War, Field-Marshal, etc., 2 pages folio with papered seal, 22 January 1711. Ordering the payment of 7,117.31 scudi to Signor Don Carlo Filiberto D'Este, Marquis of Borgo Manero, Captain General of Cavalry at Arms, as his salary for the year 1711.
'Eugene Prince of Savoie and Piedmont, Marquis of Saluzzo, Counsellor of State, President of the Aulic Council of War, Field Marshal , Colonel of Regiment of Dragoons, Knight Ordinary of the Order of the Golden Fleece, and Captain General of S.M.C in the state of Milan.

In accordance with the new mandate of the 10 January, 1711, we announce and entrust this order to the Treasurer General, Count Don Marcellino Ayvoldi, that from the money in his charge in the state chest should pass the sum of 7,117.31 scudi , to be paid to Signor Don Carlo Filiberto D'Este, Marquis of Borgo Manero, Captain General of Cavalry and Men at Arms of this State, which represents his salary as said General and Captain of a Company of Men at Arms for the 12 months of the present year 1711.
This being 6617.71 scudi as General, at a rate of 551.51 scudi a month, and 499.70 scudi as Captain at a rate of 41.70 scudi per month, excepting taxes to be paid monthly from this sum, as mentioned in the aforementioned mandate.
In the matter of the charge, the debit should be made to the General Treasury, to which account should be given by means of this order for payment signed in Milan the 22 January, 1711.
