Autograph Letter Signed to Mrs Middleton ('a friend of such long standing'), 2 pages 8vo (oblong), 20 Hinde House, Hinde Street, Manchester Square, 15 June 1947. The letter ends horizontally at the top of the first page. Largely discussing the health and mental state of her aged aunt.
'... [My aunt] is at the moment in a mental home (the Priory, Roehampton). We hope she will be better soon, & able to return to her own house, probably with a nurse to be with her at first as her maid could not manage alone. She has been getting more & more wandering and unbalanced & full of delusions ... (such as thinking they mean to poison her or gas her) and is very depressed'. ....
