'His Majesty's Good Friends the United States ...'

GEORGE IV (1762-1830). King of England.
Document Signed as Prince Regent ('George P R'), 5 pages folio with blanks and papered seal, 26 October 1811. Authorising the Lord Chancellor to affix the Great Seal to a commission appointing Anthony St John Baker 'to be Secretary to His Majesty's Legation to His Majesty's Good Friends the United States of America.'
The document includes a copy (in Latin) of the commission document itself, and is countersigned by Richard Colley, Marquis Wellesley (1760-1842), the foreign secretary and former governor-general of India.
