Brief Autograph Letter Signed ('C. Darwin') to an unnamed correspondent [probably John Murray], 1 page 8vo (laid down on the remains of an album leaf), Down, Bromley, Kent, 14 April no year [?1865].
'Many thanks for the advertisement. I am much pleased that you are content with the Title.'
Darwin had written to John Murray on 4 April [1865], saying that 'I am quite willing that you should insert the advertisement as you propose, and I presume that you approve of the title' (he was writing about Variation under Domestication). The advertisement appeared in The Reader on 15 April 1865.
