Letter Signed ('James R', as James VI of Scotland) to the Laird of Barnbarroche, ½-page folio with address on the reverse, Stirling, 27 September 1585. Addressed to the Laird [Sir Patrick Vans] as 'ane of the senators of o[ur] college of justice'.
An order to Vans to be present at the next meeting of the 'checkker' [exchequer] arranged for 6 October.
'... At that tyme we think maist expedient that it convene agane at Stairling and proceed that all thing be perfect that ye could not on[d]ertake the Last tyme ...'
