Autograph Letter Signed ('Ed Elgar') to Alfred Littleton, 3 pages 4to, Hereford, 7 October 1910. Forwarding a letter [no longer included] about a projected tour organised by Dr Charles Harriss.
'... I think a proper agreement shd be required or a specific letter written by Dr Harriss mentioning terms & forfeit if the tour is curtailed or abandoned ... .'
Elgar subsequently accompanied the Sheffield Choir to Canada and the United States on the first leg of a world tour in March 1911. The tour had been organised by Dr Charles Harriss, the wealthy English-born organist of Ottawa Cathedral.
