BALDWIN, Stanley, 1st Earl (1867-1947). Prime Minister 1923-1924, 1924-1929 and 1935-1937.
Autograph Letter Signed to 'Dear Woods', 3 pages 8vo (a little creased), House of Commons (blind stamp), 19 November 1912. Asking for new of Woods ('another half year had passed since you last heard from me'), and commenting on the state of the government.
'... We have been having an exciting time here lately and last week has given the government the worst shake they have had since they have been in office. They may go on for a year or two yet - I hope they will - but nothing can save them now. ...'
