Ruskin on engravings of Turner

RUSKIN, John (1819-1900). Author, artist & social reformer.
Autograph Letter Signed to 'My dear Halsted' (apparently, but unidentified), 1 page 8vo, no date but watermarked 1858. Discussing plates, two of them of paintings by Turner.
'Send me the states of Calais Pier - if I take the first & the two seconds can you make out an exchange with 1st Jason and 1st Fairy Queen and any other of the plates I sent? ... if not send me back all but the Jason & Fairy Queen. ...' Jason was shown by Turner at the 1802 Royal Academy exhibition, and Calais Pier in 1803. The latter was engraved by Thomas Goff Lupton (1792-1873) in 1827; the original is now in the National Gallery, London.
