KELLER, Helen Adams (1880-1968). American author & lecturer; lost sight and hearing at 19 months.
First edition of her Midstream: My Later Life with a signed pencilled dedication to Captain Claret on the first blank, October 1929 (spine rubbed).
In her characteristic printing, she writes:
'To Captain Claret,
My friend who goes down to the Lonely sea and the sky and gray dawns breaking on the face of the deep in the "Minnewaska".
May the star he steers by ever shine brightly upon his course.
 Sincerely and gratefully
 Helen Keller'
