STRINDBERG, August (1849-1912). Swedish novelist and dramatist.
Autograph Letter Signed on a postcard to Dr [C.A.] Berthelen, Stockholm, postmarked 9 March 1906. Replying to Berthelen's letter, now in the Royal Library, Stockholm, which praised Strindberg and asked about 'Hortus Merlini'.
'Hortus Merlini is just a collective title for the Anti-Barbarus, Sylva sylvarum etc. which appeared in French in 1896-97.'
Dr Berthelen practiced medicine in Blasewitz bei Dresden.
