An interesting document confirming the appointment by the German President (Hindenburg) of Emil [Karl Joseph] Wiehl as consul-general at Pretoria. '... Whereas Our Good Friend the President of the German Reich has by a Commission bearing date the Twenty-second day of April 1933 appointed Herr Emile (sic) Wiehl to be Consul-General at Pretoria for Southern and Northern Rhodesia, Basutoland, Bechuanaland Protectorate, Swaziland and British Nyasaland and We having approved of this appointment ...' etc. The image shows the signature only.
