![]() BOLINGBROKE, Henry St John, 1st Viscount (1678-1751). Statesman. Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 1 page 4to, (small hole affecting the year), no place, 7 June [17]25. Explaining that Monsieur de St Vincent has requested him to care for a horse given him by Lord Godolphin, saying he hopes to convey it to France soon, and will himself notify his correspondent of the precise date of transfer. '... I shall very soon send a servant into France with some hounds, & by him shall have an opportunity of conveying this Horse safely over. ...'Bolingbroke's contacts in France were extensive as he had spent nine years in exile there (1714-1723).
