The forged letter of Churchill (reproduced here from a photocopy) has been seen several times on the market. We were once offered two identical examples on the same day from different sources. The fake exhibits a number of crude mistakes apart from the wrong signature. The paper is the wrong size, there are errors in the typing which Churchill would never have allowed, the letter-head is in the wrong type and the typewriting is of a size that Churchill never used.
