The forgery of a document signed (at the top) by Charles II shows all the signs of overenthusiasm on the part of its fabricator. The 'deckled' edges are meants to give the appearance of antiquity, but only serve to make the thing look unreal. The paper and ink have been 'aged' by crude smudging, and the writing is of course quite unlike that of the period.
