The example on the left is illustrated in The Guiness Book of World Autographs by R.E.D. Rawlins (1977, page 38) as a genuine example. It is in fact a crude fake, as comparison with a real example will show. The Chopin signature in the same book is a forgery by the notorious 'Berlioz' forger.
