Take either the M4 West/M25 to the M40 and follow the route below (from London), or take M4 West to Swindon and follow the directions below ('From M4, Swindon ...').
From London, Oxford and Witney:
Take M40/A40 into Cheltenham. After major traffic lights where Cirencester Road joins from the left in about 100 yards follow signs to 'A40 Tewkesbury / Gloucester / M5' in a left turn and continue to follow these signs to the next left, and right at the second ensuing mini-roundabout. You now pass through the College with the sports ground, chapel etc. to your right. Straight over next major junction at lights (still following signs A40). The next lights are a pedestrian crossing. Painswick Road is the second left (sharp turn round big tree) and we are second house on the right in the regency block.
From M4, Swindon and the South:
Take the A419 (417) from the M4 at Swindon and follow the new dual carriageway generally signposted to Gloucester and the M5, by-passing Cirencester, to the 'Air Balloon' pub roundabout beyond Nettleton. Do not take the left turn at the roundabout, go ahead and take the immediate first left, the road signposted to Leckhampton. Descend Leckhampton Hill. Pass over two new mini-roundabouts. At the roundabout at the junction with the A46 Shurdington Road continue straight on down the Bath Road. At the traffic lights at Suffolk Road (when you reach the College - Thirlstaine House is on your right) turn left. Painswick Road is the second on the left.
FROM WEST AND M5 (north or south):
Leave M5 (or cross it) at junction 11, if coming south on the M5 ignore junction 10 (signposted Cheltenham), proceeding by A40 into Cheltenham. Continue straight into Cheltenham via Lansdowne Road to the island with a petrol station on it. Go round to the right and turn left into Andover Road. Painswick Road is first right after the traffic lights at Park Place.
