Remarking on the war and his hopes for the future, and giving instructions about how to cope with gout. '... We are under control of the R.A.F. here & billet them - very good fellows & very popular. One only asks for Justice for the vermin we are fighting. If they get that, their thieves' kitchens should at least be emptied; but it will probably be necessary to destroy a couple of million more before they begin to yelp. ...'
