COWARD, Sir Noël (1899-1973). Actor, playwright, composer, lyricist, painter, & author. Typewritten Letter Signed to William Turnbull, 1 page 4to on blue airmail paper, Blue Harbour, Port Maria, Jamaica, 10 January 1961. Thanking Turnbull for a length of 'Pomp and Circumstance' material, which he intends to make into a pair of cushions for his library in Switzerland. Turnbull had a small weaving factory in the north of England, where he produced personalised fabric designs. Pomp and Circumstance so impressed him that he designed and made a special material of that name and sent a sample to Coward, who here thanks him. '... I can truthfully return the compliment; I think your "Pomp And Circumstance" is perfectly beautiful ... .'
