Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 1 page 8vo (oblong) on the reverse of part of an address-leaf, no place, 5 October 1817. In his characteristic scratchy (and largely illegible) hand, he appears to be refusing to counsel his correspondent's brother because he has been engaged to give a commendation to someone with whom he has been long acquainted.
