BUCHAN, John, 1st Baron Tweedsmuir (1875-1940). Author & Governor-general of Canada.
Autograph Manuscript of an article or chapter headed 'Other Gods', closely written on 6 pages folio, numbered at the head by the author, undated. A tightly written manuscript in a small and almost illegible hand with occasional deletions and corrections.
It is not clear what is the exact nature of the piece nor its place of publication (if any). The hand is particularly difficult, but the manuscript begins:
'A name can sometimes be like a scent or a tune, a key to half-forgotten memories ...'
Substantial manuscripts of John Buchan are not commonly found on the market.
