Attractive 1-page 8vo Autograph Letter Signed to Joseph Crook, Tavistock House, London, 10 December 1856. Refusing to comply with 'the request of my Bolton friends', and adding in confidence that he receives so many similar requests that he rarely answers them 'under my own hand'.
Apparently unpublished, not in the Letters of Charles Dickens, edited by Graham Storey and Katherine Tillotson.
