GURNEY, Joseph John (1788-1847). Quaker philanthropist & writer; brother of Elizabeth Fry.
Autograph Letter Signed to a fellow Quaker ('My dear Friend'), 2½ pages 8vo, Earlham, 17 January 1843. Authorising the reprinting of part of his Essays ('on the Atonement') as a tract, provided it is made clear that it is a reprint with the author's permission, as the publication of a new Tract would be controversial.
