JUXON, William (1582-1663). Archbishop of Canterbury; attended Charles I on the scaffold.
Letter Signed ('Guil: London') as Bishop of London and Lord Treasurer, to the Auditor of the Counties of Somerset & Dorset, 1 page folio, London House, 7 March 1637/8 Ordering a deposit of £200 to Richard Warde, in order that he may pay a like sum to the Coffers of His Majesties Household.
Juxon signs this document in his secular capacity of Lord Treasurer, rather than as a Bishop. As Bishop, he directed the restoration of St Paul's Cathedral.
