Autograph Letter Signed to Messrs Palmer & Wansey, Bristol land agents, 1 page 8vo, 11 St Georges' Terrace, 2 February 1858 Asking for an account of monies owing on Red Lodge 'as I do not wish to charge any part of those expences to Miss Carpenter'. Lady Byron bought the Red Lodge in Park Row, Bristol, for the reformer Mary Carpenter (1807-1877) to use as a reformatory for girls, where Miss Carpenter's advanced views could be fully developed.
