BARBIÊ DU BOCAGE, Jean-Denis (1760-1825). Cartographer.
Autograph Letter Signed ('Barbié du Bocage') to M. Blaise, bookseller to the Duchesse d'Orleans, 1 page 8vo with address-leaf, [Paris], 5 October 1824.

Sending his map of Troy ('Grande Carte de la Troade') with corrections, and giving instructions that it should first be passed to M. Dien who will correct the lettering, then a proof returned to him before the plate is sent to M. Boudet. He also asks Blaise to return to him all Dubois's tracings, as they contain notes which he needs for his text.

The elder Barbié (his two sons were also map-makers) specialised in maps of the ancient world.
