Autograph Letter Signed to the Lord Chancellor [Lord Cranworth], 2 pages 8vo with blank leaf, Downing Street, 18 July 1856. Explaining that 'the enclosed letter' [no longer included] was founded on a misapprehension.

'... a misapprehension of the effect of the clause regulating the salaries of the clerks, as it stands in the amended Bill.
 'The subject was explained to the House by Wilson last night, & his explanation was deemed satisfactory.'
