Unless otherwise indicated the image is of the most significant part of the object
FOX, Charles James (1749-1806). Politician.
Autograph Letter Signed ('C.J.F.') to Sir Fra[ncis] Vincent, 1 page 8vo (oblong), Arlington Street, 'Thursday. Address, 'Sir Fra Vincent' on the verso with remains of seal. The absence of a date or watermark makes it a little difficult to place this note in context.

'Pray tell me whether I have appointed any body at the office to day. If I have not, I shall not go there till late. If Mr. T. (possibly 'J') Weld comes by appointment, you may send him up here but nobody else.'

Fox could be referring to Thomas Weld (1750-1810, Roman Catholic landowner and benefactor), or, rather less likely, to his son, also Thomas (1773-1837, a cardinal in later life, but from 1796 to 1815 a married man).
