MICHELET, Jules (1798-1874). French historian.
Extensive autograph notes, on 2 pages folio and 2 pages 4to (one corner torn away). Described (in pencil in another hand) as notes written in 1868 for an analysis or review of a work of Dupanloup on education.

Felix-Antoine-Philibert Dupanloup (1802-1878, Bishop of Orléans) had been a prominent supporter of the Loi Falloux (1851), which, under the guise of freedom of education, had restored much of the church's tradition influence in education.
