Please be so kind as to make my excuses to our ... master and feel a little sorry for me that I cannot take part in your ... work today.A rather hastily-written letter with a few words illegible.
'If I am not considerably better tomorrow morning I should have to ask you to postpone my performance at Madame Higendorf's till Thursday.'
