Illustrated letter.

ORPEN, Sir William Newenham Montague (1878-1931). Painter.
Two Autograph Letters Signed to the sculptor Everard Meynell (1882-1926), in all 3½ pages 8vo with one envelope, Eastwell Park, Ashford, Kent where stated, no dates. With a sketch. Arranging to meet, pleading delays because of extended sittings, and making appointments for Meynell to sit.
Portions are excised from each letter, presumably because they contained names.
'... Can you sit? The picture appears more comely after Ireland and I am anxious to get on with it. Could you come Thursday? early in the afternoon. If this is impossible what day can you - I will only want a couple more sittings - as your figure appears to have some strange quality of straightforwardness which I never dreamt it had. ...'
