NAPIER OF MAGDALA, Robert Cornelis (1810-1890). Field Marshal; first Baron.
Autograph Letter Signed to Richard Airey (Baron Airey, 1803-1881, army officer), together with Airey's letter to 'Military Secretary', 2 pages 8vo, 6 March 1878. Soliciting Airey's help for a fellow officer. Airey states that he does not know what the rules are but would like to 'give Lord Napier some answer, if possible, and expedient'.
