Autograph Letter Signed ('Wellington') to General Sir James Willoughby Gordon (1772-1851), 1 page 8vo with integral endorsed leaf, London, 13 April 1828. A letter written during the period (8 January 1828 to 22 November 1830) that Wellington served as prime minister, relating to his chief domestic concern of the moment, Lord Liverpool's Corn Bill.
'I return the enclosed Letter for which I am very much obliged to you. It is very satisfactory to me to see that ... the Corn Measure proposed to Parliament will probably prove satisfactory. ...'
